Encounters and greetings are often uncomfortable. We seem to need a lot of personal place and at the same time ache for intimacy. 

Take birthday parties for example, you know you’ll be greeting people but are not sure how; when and how the other person will respond.

 

When the moment arrives, you extend a handshake and suddenly the other wants 3 kisses. There is a moment of discomfort, but quickly you adapt to the situation. A few seconds later the awkwardness is forgotten. 

 

What if this awkward moment is captured and doesn’t just blow over. 

 

My goal is to emphasize these uncomfortable moments. They are fleeting moments in time which I want to document. Usually they are over in a second but this way they continue to exist.
